Hedy Buzan was born in Laguna Beach, California. She studied printmaking at UC Santa Cruz where she received BFA certification. After graduation she printed her own lithographs and those of other artists at Pine Flat Press in Santa Cruz and at Bluestone Editions in Seattle; then joined the Peace Corps and served in the West Indies. This led to a job teaching drawing at the Edna Manley School of Art in Kingston, Jamaica. She returned to the United States and received a MFA in Design at The George Washington University.

Hedy Buzan is currently on the adjunct faculty staff at Saddleback Community College where she is called upon to teach courses in Drawing, Design, Printmaking and Mixed Media/ Collage. Ms. Buzanʼs studio is located at the Laguna Canyon Artists Complex on Laguna Canyon Road in Laguna Beach.
